All in all we've had a damn good season considering our budget, attendances up,decent football & a trophy in the cabinet,marske dropping out of the league have done us no favours,so we'll have to see what happens with the teams who still have a couple of games to play,hope Nicky stays & the players sign new contracts. Saturday v Worksop was poor, they kept the ball away from us and although they got the three points couldn’t finish us off so we managed to get a couple of chances at the end which of course were missed. The first half V Macc was better but their first and second goal was so easy, I swear the after the first goal the Mac players were looking at each other to say bloody hell that was easy! The second goal, how many times did we give it away before they scored? Twice straight to their feet as I noticed. Whether it was a sending off or not against that good lad Ditchie it really changed the game, Macc knew we were no threat after that and simply held us off. To be fair It’s blindingly obvious that Macc’s team is far far above the level of any team that’s been at this level, even South Shields, so it’s no shame to lose to them. We’ll see what happens for the last few games if we make the play offs but wouldn’t it be ironic if Ashton get thru? Given the absolute schooling we gave them at home only for us to mis chance after chance after sitter after sitter and them score to equalise in the last minute but hey, that’s football. We’re just not crafty or clinical enough to finish teams off in some games but hey, what a ride this and the last season was. More please!

Played very well today and Tuesday

Strange game today, opponents had some very odd tactics playing out from the back with a keeper who likes to play centre mid. However, what a time to be a Hyde fan, unreal run… unreal team!

Terrible. I've seen better Sunday League football. Is the pitch as big as it looks (especially the width) or is just looking big because they all keep bunching up and playing kick and run.

Another act of destruction from Hyde but why do teams at this level play out from the back? it’s just not a good idea to automatically do it against a team so obviously set up for destruction like Hyde are! Do teams not send a scout to watch their next opponents? Anyways, it really is a pleasure to have been to some of the recent games both home and away and Hyde really are an absolute unit at the moment.

Great result. Over a strong club. I remember a time when they had folded and only kept going by fielding amateurs from the university football team. They even gave us the only(??) streaker we’ve seen at Ewen Fields.

Beating Lancaster is very satisfying, always a side that are better than their league position and one of the banana skins of this league for many a “big club”. These boys are a joy to watch, love it.

Nick summed up how 'stupid' the officials were today, they weren't just bad, they were bizarre. I saw the two footed tackle and the player was about 6 inches off the ground when he went in, nothing - then the penalty, why the conversation with the linesmen? And then the handball for their second which you could see all round the ground. The officials were extremely poor to say the least.

I thought Whitby were a very good side and they were just better than Hyde on the night. No need for the crowd to be getting on players' backs when the side they're playing was obviously a stronger team. Hyde will bounce back from this.
